​Obedience Classes

Our in-person obedience class fosters a focused environment for students and dogs to learn essential obedience, Pack Leader skills, and body language understanding. Please bring a 6 ft leash with a martingale collar, along with treats or your dog’s favourite toy, to enhance your learning experience.

Behaviour Modification

Dog behaviour modification is the process of altering a dog's emotional and physical responses to specific triggers. It focuses on addressing the underlying root causes of issues like fear, anxiety, and aggression, rather than merely punishing or treating the symptoms.

 

While obedience training teaches commands (e.g., sit, stay, or come), behaviour modification transforms how your dog perceives and reacts to their environment. Understanding the trigger and what kind of therapy is needed, is what a dog behaviourist does.

 

I teach you how to take back your home and remote, and show you how to establish new rules in the home. Teaching boundaries and limitations is crucial to having a good healthy bond with your dog. Dogs look for direction. If you don't' have a balance of love and respect, your relationship will suffer. Loving too much can destroy a dog and leave them feeling lost and without a pack. They thrive on direction. Taking top spot shows your dog you care for him and will supply everything he needs. Protection, warmth, care, nurturing and best of all, resources!

Board & Train
'Boot Camp to Blue Ribbon'

Our board & train behaviour modification program offers your dog an intensive 4 week training boot camp with certified trainer and behaviourist Mimi Jacobson and her trusted side kick Sandy. Your dog will stay in her home with Sandy her 8 year old Labrador. Our aim is to get your dog into dog daycare during the week, where learning how to be a dog in a pack environment is the best part of it all. In Mimi's home the dog will learn basic rules, boundaries and limitations. On the weekends the dog will be home with you working on the techniques Mimi has taught you in your weekly 1 hour session.
 

Mimi has fostered and rehabilitated many dogs and owners over the last 2 decades and has had great success in her work. Her therapy dog Sandy will be there to assist in the behaviour modification alongside Mimi in a supportive and gentle way. Only 1 spot available at a time, so call to book ahead. Does not include food, but lots of treats and cuddles. If your dog is crate trained, bring it along too.
